Join Our MAT

The Partnership Trust is a growing family of schools committed to excellence through partnership. We are always keen to work with new schools who share our vision and values and who are interested in joining our Multi-Academy Trust of mainstream and special schools.
With a footprint spanning the South West, our Multi-Academy Trust includes special schools, first schools, and primary schools. We do not seek to make all schools the same, instead celebrating the unique characteristics, heritage and community of each one.

Why join The Partnership Trust?
- A history of welcoming schools and fostering strong and supportive partnerships based on shared values and commonly agreed practices.
- A Trust that celebrates diversity with each school retaining oversight of their own day-to-day management.
- Strong and flexible shared services.
- A genuinely collegiate approach to leadership.
- A robust, effective and transparent governance system.
- An overall sense of shared ownership across our decisions and initiatives.
- An outstanding track record of high-quality school improvement, achieved in part by reducing workloads in individual schools to enable our staff to remain focused on their core tasks.
What are the benefits of joining The Partnership Trust?
- School improvement: Working together to make a positive difference is at the heart of what we do.
- Our schools benefit from working with a dedicated leadership partner.
- Our Heads meet at least termly, allowing them to share effective practice and work together on challenges and new initiatives: this shared strategic thinking is key.
- Trust-wide network groups connect staff with specific roles allowing them to share good practice and support each other.
- Our School Improvement Team includes school-based senior leaders with Trust-wide leadership roles as part of their remit as well as a dedicated School Improvement Director and Director of Education.
- We recognise the unique nature of our schools and do not have a ‘one size fits all curriculum’; instead we operate shared curriculum principles
- Our staff, children and young people: We see the diversity of our schools as a real strength, it gives staff and students a multitude of experiences and perspectives they may not otherwise have.
- We are committed to succession planning and talent spotting, supported by appropriate CPD programmes and secondments.
- We bring together learners from across our schools for learning challenges and opportunities to experience different cultures and communities.
- Central Services: All schools benefit from experienced, professional central services. These functions free up time and resources for schools, allowing them to focus on their key priorities, and include comprehensive HR, Finance, Estates, Governance, and Marketing support.
Testimonials
My experience of The Partnership Trust as a head teacher has been overwhelmingly positive. It is an exciting Trust to be part of and it really is a collaborative and extremely supportive community. I feel that all of the school leaders hold true the values of the trust and as a network we work exceptionally well together. Having experienced other trusts in another school, I know that the Central Team are excellent in supporting me as a Leader when I need it, and are strategic in their thinking to help improve all aspects in the smooth running of the school with a variety of different initiatives. I couldn't recommend the Trust highly enough!

Working within The Partnership Trust has been an enriching and transformative experience for both myself and Hayesdown First School. The Trust provides a supportive network that encourages collaboration and innovation, which has significantly contributed to the growth and success of our school, allowing us to go from strength to strength.
Being part of The Partnership Trust has allowed us to collaborate with other schools and share best practices which has led to improved teaching strategies and a more cohesive learning environment for our pupils. The Trust also offers extensive professional development opportunities. I have participated in leadership workshops and training sessions that have enhanced my skills and confidence as a Headteacher; however leadership is supported at all levels from pupils, to subject leaders and deputy headteachers. There is a focus on innovation in education and our Trust welcomes new ideas. This has empowered our school to implement creative educational approaches, benefiting both our staff and pupils.
The Trust places a strong emphasis on community involvement and we have been able to engage more effectively with parents and local organisations, strengthening our school's role within the community.
Overall, being part of the Partnership Trust has been a rewarding experience that has helped us achieve our educational goals and improve student outcomes.

Head Teacher, Hayesdown First School
The Partnership Trust really does feel like a 'partnership' for those of us who are fortunate enough to work as headteachers within it. Collaborative decision-making has been a strong element of the Trust ever since our school joined it in 2019. As well as the open, supportive dialogue that takes place regularly between heads and the central trust team, heads are very much there for each other. There is also specific and very practical, helpful support that comes through to us from dedicated members of the Trust team, who are focused on helping headteachers do an even better job. This really benefits our pupils. Collaborative groups such as the small schools, church schools and Pupil Premium Working party are examples of how we get together to support each other with the guidance and expertise of the Trust. This makes it an enjoyable place to work among highly supportive colleagues.
